Adding 930 Rear Flares to 87 Carrera
Hello, i am currently researching what is needed to add 930 rear flares to my 87 carrera.
At this point - with assistance from Pelican - i have identified and corresponded with a parts supplier: GT Racing, Joel has been very patient with my many questions. One significant sticking point remains: understanding the wheel to fender gap and possible solutions. The car currently has 9x17 fuchs running 255/40 tires. the offset is 55. the wheels are 3 yrs old, purchased new from Fuchs DE. If the only solution to the gap issue is a wheel with more offset then i most likely will not pursue the project at this point I have been told by a couple of builders that i will be able close any esthetic gap with the use of spacers. I currently use spacers to accommodate the larger wheel/tire combo. Interested in hearing from others who have gone down this path . . . thanks, Ed

I wouldn’t put fiberglass flares on a street car, stick to metal or leave it alone.
