Smile Repair?
Warshing the car today and noticed for the 99th time that the bumper smile is lifting.
I've searched on here and must be an id jut because I can't find a thread on this. I've got a bumper smile that is lifting. I've heard "you just buy a new one" but why can't I just glue it with barge cement? ![]() I've had bumper off before but seems like a lot of work to just paste down a rubber strip. |

I'd try hitting it with a heat gun, and weigh it down with something. Not hot enough to damage the paint of course. I wouldn't glue it down.

Ok, thought about the heat gun approach. Car gets really hot out in the sun already. Enough heat to melt the rubber flat seems likely to damage the rubber.
Has anyone actually tried heat gun? Or do you all just splash out on a new $400 smile rubber. I think I'm just going to glue it. Barge cement is easy to remove if it doesn't hold. |
