F me to tears, thanks to a distracted driver.

Very sad.
Courtesy of a restricted term DL, first day Uber, online shopping at the scene, driver.
Unfortunate, though not unbelievable.....

Is there documention of factory rear quarter seams and welds? I havent come across any pictures of a stripped paint at the roof and quarter panel.

I dont not want to scab anything other than a factory assembly.

There is a stated value policy that should cover it. After being to five shops. There should at least be 1 estimate coming in this week. There is only one shop that has a majority recommendation.

Marty,
Are there any Porsche certified shops in your area?
If not, at least make sure they have the correct equipment. If it gets the quarter panel replaced, make sure that they have a spot welder….. and one that is approved by Porsche
If it needs to go on a structural bench, it should be on that is approved by Porsche such as Celette. The Rt rocker panel is a very strong structural panel.
You’ll be blending the paint into the right front fender and most likely the deck lid.
I was in the industry for over 30 years repairing unibody cars. Feel free to PM me if any questions come up along the way.
Sorry for your accident, hopefully you weren’t hurt….it’s easier to fix cars than people.

Hi
The picture attached shows you where the rear fender is spot welded to the the door opening

Note that on the picture the issue was rust in the door opening so the spot weld is drilled out and the rusty part is removed ready to weld in the new part

The door skin on your car is just wrapped around the edges of the inner door

Its looks like the inner support on the end of outer rocker will be damaged on my end. I believe the oem quarter comes with the door strike pillar missing in the photo

I had to re post this message since i was not able to attach the picture in the deleted post above

The door post will sit attached on your car (i replaced the door post on my car because of rust so that is why it is removed on the picture i posted)

This picture is just to show you the spot welds that holds the rear fender spot welded in the door opening (marked here as short black lines)
