Compounds and process for sanding/compounding SPI clear

Good morning All;

Recently finished laying down the SPI universal clear over the Glasurit 55 line on my project. Decent result considering I have not painted a car in a couple years. While there is not much peel in the clear there is a bunch of nibs. I plan to sand with 1000 grit to start and go to 1500 and 2000.

My question has to do with compounding/compounds. While I have a bunch of compound left over from the old AE days, I could use some advice regarding appropriate new product for this project. While we're at it, a process check for the clear sanding mentioned above. This clear cut very nicely dry. I'll likely go over the care with the 1000 dry just to make it easier to see when the nibs are gone, then switch to wet for the 1500 and 2000.

Gary

Get some 3m trizact pads in 3000 and use before you cut. I’m an amateur and keep it simple meguirs 110 then 210 on a wool pad. Try autogeek.net for all the latest stuff if your into spending money.

You might find good info on the SPI forum as well.
