microscratches
Hello All,
My son just bought a new car and he wants to ceramic coat it but the finish is full of what we are calling microscratches. Whats a good easy compound to use to elimanate these and prep it for ceramic coating? Also, the wife just bought a new lexus and I am appauled by the lack of surface finish on the paint. Dealer wants to charge us 1200 bucks to wax / seal the surface which is ridiculous! Anyway, whats a good simple wax / sealer to use on a new car? Hopping for something easy to apply. Thanks everyone!

Interesting part with Lexus Toyota is the self healing paint, which supposedly helps diminish light scratching for 5 years. The clear coat is initially a slow hardening product that when exposed to heat or UV will flow a bit and close up minor surface scratches. They recommend not using anything abrasive. My 2016 ES is beyond this period, and clay bar or clay mitt are the go to method before applying a finish.
I've used Mothers and Meguiar's products, but I am very happy with Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell Car Wax on my 2016 ES. Do not use in the sun of when paint is hot. If done properly it goes on and buffs off well. The finish is very durable and leaves a nice shine.
