Correct Paint 71 Jams/Trunk/Eng

I have a 71 Targa 911 and was wondering the original color of the door jams and the INTERIOR part of the door that barely shows (just around the inner door panel). The trunk area, Engine bay and under the fenders....

What were the correct colors for these parts.. Body color or black?

If its any help, my 1970t has body color in the front trunk, black in the engine compartment and the doors and jams are all body color.

Yeap, door jams and trunk were body color 100% , I thought engine compartment was body color as well? My original 71 had body color in the engine bay. However I saw an original early 912 that was black. So I am not 100% sure on the engine compartment.

73' was the year they changed to body color in the engine bay. 72' was still black over body color in the bay.

71 undercoat,trunk engine compartment colors/finish

I researched this for my 71E resto, on Pelican and the Early S Registry. The consensus is, for the 71,.....Trunk is body color, engine compartment is black, underside and wheelwells are black.

GotaT,
Thanks....This is a 71E, painted Arctic Silver. A later model year 911 silver than originally painted, but a very beautiful color. The car was painted black (not very well), when I bought it and, I was going to paint it Silver Metallic 8080 , but then i saw Bob Tilton's early car and emailed him regarding the color of his car....and that's how I ended up with Arctic Silver. Complete, windows out, bare metal, pro paint job by one of the best in my area.

Regards,
al

Anyone know what is correct for a 68 912, body color or black in the trunk area? My car looks like it is black but there could be color under the black so a PO could have applied additional undercoat/stone guard.
