Spray/rattle can primer under 2K?

I am restoring my front trunk plus will be repainting the rocker panels, front and rear valances.

What I'd like to know is whether it's OK to use a single stage primer (ie. from a spray/rattle can)? I would not do this for the main bodywork but was hoping these areas would be fine.

Obviously paint compatibility is part of the question but I also wanted to know how much this impacts on the durability to the point it is not recommended.

The valances will be sprayed with Wurth SKS prior to body color. The front trunk will be primed then color.

I have a gun and compressor but obviously it is a bit easier to apply some light prime coats out of a can.

I have used Upol's Acid 8 under Glasurit 2K with no apparent issues but this was only done over small areas and under Wurth SKS.

on its not ok . there ia no hardener in a spray can so the product is not going to hold up as good as a product that uses a hardener in it . i know that you know you should use a E-primer and the same goes for using one with a catalyst . darren don't be lazy !!! if you don't want to mix it in a cup and put it in a spray gun get a preval sprayer . they clean up real quick and spray like a spray can maybe better ? david

Thanks David, saved me from myself again! I'll use 2K primer. I definitely don't want this project to look like the work of a lazy man....

I have Glasurit paint and will get the right primer.
