Starting my 1973 RSR project. Is this rolling chassis a good start?
 

Hi there. This is my first post. I was looking around on Craigslist the other day, and found this 912 rolling chassis. I am curious as to if this is a good place to start for my 1973 RSR project? Thanks!

1968 911/912 PROJECT - GOOD SOLID BASE

A 68 is a short wheelbase car where as the 73 RSR you're attempting to build is long wheelbase.
Further, you will have to do more overall to convert this 912.. you should start with a 69 onward 911 for this your project.

I think there may even be a couple of project cars forsale on the forum here on Pelican.

So, what would I be looking at doing to convert to the long wheelbase? Thanks!

it would be much cheaper just to start with another car . that car is nothing more than a parts car that really has no part left on it .

I agree with these guys. However, this would be pretty good starting point for a 911R if you wanted to build one of those instead.

look for an sc... is the best starting point.. you are anyway going to change flares ...

I like this idea. But you have to like it, too.

This post shows various pics of a 911 R being restored (or converted) in a garage most of us could only dream of. He gots him some coin but he's down to earth enough to yak with us mortals.

To do what this guy has done would be prohibitively expensive. But it is great eye candy.

Consider a later car for backdating to the RSR look.
