Hi,
I am new to 356's and am trying to trace back the history of a 1960 356B that I am looking at. Can you find out if it was originally LHD/RHD from the chassis number? How do you find out if the engine is original? How do you find out the original country it was delivered to? I know this info is readily available for 911's but have no idea how to check for 356's. Any help/assistance appreciated! |

Hello Mel.
Your best results would be to join the 356 registry forum and order a COA from Porsche. If you have the vin, then it is easy to put the car with a range of engine numbers. From that you can make a close guess on vin num vs engine number as compared to production numbers. As for the other issues or questions a more knowledgeable responder will be needed. Good luck, 60s are very nice production models. I've been partial to C cars, but currently restoring a 60 1600S Cab. regards from Virginia, Rusty

Plug the vin into Porsche serial numbers start page
It will give you some of that info, and at least a range of engine numbers that could be correct.
