T5 Coupe Decklid, Grill, & Hinges
THE GRILL AND DECKLID ARE SOLD.
HINGES REMAIN SOLD!!! We're preparing for Carlisle and found some interesting items. All prices are plus shipping and paypal fees, or we can arrange delivery at Carlisle .... Please look carefully at the photos, and please do your homework. SOLD!! SOLD!! Offering a T5 coupe decklid ($350 + shipping/fees) had been repainted multiple times, so I removed white, red, green and bronze paint, and re-shot it with rattle can primer. (I always assume that anyone using the piece for their project will take everything to bare metal, but I wanted to avoid surprises to the extent practical.) SOLD!! SOLD!! The hinges ($50+shipping/fees) were removed from this T5 decklid are clearly rusty, but appear to be fully functional. Hinges include original bolts, washers, and nuts, if that matters to the buyer. SOLD!! SOLD!! The grill ($110+ s/f) appears straight and unmolested. While items were separated from the decklid in order to offer the buyer optimal flexibility, I'd be happy to combine them, if the buyer prefers. Feel free to communicate. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

How do you tell the difference between a 356A decklid and a T5?

If you have helpful information, feel free to share. I just don't want to mislead anyone
So, I cannot personally answer your question. One source told me that the decklid is correct for all A coupes. The other said T5 is different. As the photo shows, it has been identified as T5, so that's all I can say right now. Sorry. I'm still researching. |

It turns out that Brett Johnson's 356 book, p. 43, states, "the standard rear lids on T5 356B cars were unchanged from the 356A."
So, thank you 'Acoupe' in Nebraska. My A is a cab, so I had no personal knowledge. |

good prices... especially that early grille. this stuff would do well over on 356Registry if you can tolerate their F'd up Classified ad policies.

thanks for the positive comments. perhaps i priced them too low, but that is the nature of this stuff.
all of the pieces were posted on 356 Registry, as well. but almost all of the interest came from pelican. (i agree with your assessment of the 356 Reg classified policies. i appreciate what they were trying to do, and i understand that they needed to upgrade. but it's difficult to get used to the way it was designed.) |
