Same owner for over 30 years. Very original and rust free example. Excellent throughout. Great to drive as well as look at.

I acquired the Speedster in 1978 in a partially restored condition. The restoration project was competed in 1981. The scope of the restoration included professional painting as well as rebuilding or replacing of all mechanicals including the professional rebuild of the upgraded 1600 engine and original transmission.

The suspension was thoroughly gone through and Koni shocks were added. The entire brake system, including master cylinder, slave cylinders, shoes and lines were replaced and the drums were refurbished.

The complete electrical system was replaced or rebuilt including wiring harness,
generator, voltage regulator, starter, and instruments. Additionally, electronic relays were added to enhance headlight brightness and available starter amperage for reliable starting.

New black vinyl top, interior, and floor mats were also installed. All chrome and trim pieces were also replaced. The new 16” tires and tubes that were installed in 1981 were replaced in 2008 with Avon tires/tubes due to age. There has only been 6,000 meticulously maintained, rain free, miles put on the car since its 1981 restoration.

The Speedster will come with side curtains, complete with carrying case, tool kit,
owner’s manual, spare tire, factory jack, original metal battery cover, tire strap, two binders containing KARDEX sheet, Porsche factory correspondence, 356 CD’s, numerous Porsche & Speedster related publications, etc. Some of the spares included are headlight seal beams and lenses, NOS clutch cable assembly, fan belt, oil filter, etc.
