Which Door Seals for an 89 3.2?

I'm trying to tighten up the AC performance. Thought is to redo frunk and door seals, and use some putty around the firewall to try to seal the passenger cabin.

Pelican offers a number of options. Which door seals have you guys tried? Which work?

Thanks.

Are you talking about the weather stripping around the door? Or something else?

You'd want to make sure to get anything that is a Porsche part. I wouldn't really trust that an aftermarket manufacturer could produce the correct fitting.

As for trying to improve your AC performance, your best improvement would be to add darkened tint to all the windows. Makes the inside cabin ALOT cooler.

Remember that the interior of an air cooled 911 is completely open vented to the outside. All those perforated holes in the headliner pass air back to the vent slots over the rear window.

When I did my car's paint job I just got something from our host, I think even the URO's for your door will be fine. That seal is one of the easy ones to do and isn't fussy as I remember. Same with the frunk. I just had a quality legal tint job done also to help with heat gain, it seems to keep my other cars much cooler in the summer when parked in the sun. Windshield seal rubbers are a different story but URO says they have stepped up to make there's better than Porsche's OE.

I'm talking about the rubber seal attached to the body, that circles the door opening.

Son of a... Are you serious? I did not know that. I thought those vents simply vented from the sunroof cavity so that it wouldn't create an air pocket and cavitate. Are you sure? I guess that means it's even more important to prevent air from entering, so the frunk seal, the door seals, and the firewall penetrations need to be addressed.

I've tinted cars and trucks before, but something about the 911 makes me hesitate. I like the look as is, with the clear greenhouse. I don't daily drive, so I'm not sitting in traffic every day sweating. Just looking for incremental gains without sacrificing my (its?) vanity.

Tinting is definitely not a thing I wanted to do but since my wife travels with me at times when I just want to get out and take a trip its nice to keep her comfortable and less sun inside keeps the peace.
I'll just drive with the windows down when she's not along. Or maybe I'll get used to it and enjoy the AC more as the environment heats up.

There's new ceramic tints that are virtually clear. They block more UV than standard tints and don't make your car look like it belongs on a "buy here, pay here" lot.

Go take a look at 3M Crystalline. They offer a light color that still rejects a lot of heat.
