912 motor conversion

I installed a 2.7 engine in a 1967 912. I require advice on whether the rear suspension torsion bar should be changed considering that the rear bumper has been removed and replaced with a very light fiberglass one. This reduces the weight way out in the back.
The 2.7 engine (incl muffler) weighs 450 lbs and the 912 engine weighs 280 Lbs.

I would recommend that you join the 912bbs forum...it's free and they have a lot of experiences of renegades and outlaws like your self in what you are trying to achieve.

I would change the bars to at least 911 mid year specs.
