Wheels like Magnus Walker?

I have recently become the proud owner of a 1986 Porsche 911 and would like to find some wheels similar to the Magnus Walker Outlaw design but I can't afford the $4K price tag for a set. Does anyone have a good source for wheels with a vintage look that are priced somewhere in the working man's range? They're not easy to find! Thanks!

what wheels are on it now? Magnus' wheels are a riff on the classic Fuchs design (which were fitted to my '86 targa from the factory) -- if you have Fuchs already, they can be spiced up with a repaint (leave the pedals/spokes unfinished to make them more vintage) and/or brought closer to the fenders with spacers. Dont know of any Magnus knockoffs out there . . . .

Maybe since you just bought it, leave it alone and drive it a while instead of trying to look instantly like a super hardcore famous porsche guy. You might grow to like the factory wheels even more. I know when I first saw the magnus wheels, I loved them, but after a few years... idk.... they don't do it for me as much.

Fifteen 52 makes nice wheels, but I haven't seen many used sets for sale.

He has an old DIY tutorial on his website like the first version of the 277 car.

On the affordable range - they aren't as popular now, but I really like the BBS RS on the 80s cars.

They're period correct, and unlike the Euromeister - they're about as light as the Fuchs. I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do, but everyone has different tastes.

You can usually score a full set for 1500 bucks or less on the forum if you pay attention. I think they look fantastic and they're a bargain for similar weight to wheels that will cost you several grand more.

IDK about wanting knockoffs- if you want the look pay fifteen52 and Magnus. They developed it and brought to market. Otherwise look for something else. Compomotive and BBS as already mentioned are great wheels.

My recommendation is to learn to the the car, really drive the car. That's a lot cooler than any 4k set of wheels you're going to get and a hell of a lot cheaper for starters. You'll get a hell of a lot more enjoyment from the car.

I'd put a want ad up in the for sale forum seems like they come up occasionally as people realize the error of their ways and go back to Fuchs.

I have friend who had his Fuchs cut at a machine shop for his Split Oval window bug.
