CIS resurrection after 6 year nap?

Evening gents,
I am working on restomodding my dad's 74, front brakes, suspension, steering almost done. Gas tank was toast, got another and Len's excellent lines, ready to go in. Head studs torque ok, no rust on cams, (per Grady)
So, my plan is to replace the tank, lines, pump and mount, replace fuel filter, flush the accumulator, "fogg the cylinders ", pull all of the injectors, for purging all of the gunk from the FD, testing for leaks and popp off pressure, disconnect the thermo time switch, cuz the CSV is a ***** to pull and test, much less keep it from filling the cylinders while I am trying to purge old crap gas, check pressures and leaks.
I'll be prepared for fuel leaks and would appreciate any thoughts about the resurrection.
It is times like this that I realize I am very ignorant - a slightly humbling realization.

Thanks guys,
Chris

No worries, asking questions is how to remove the "ignorant".

Check these threads and pay close attention to Grady Clays comments.

i would remove the injectors before running fuel through the FD at the very least.
put the lines in jars and at least compare the flow between cylinders.
I have seen the inside of an FD rust.
remove the plunger and clean it, they can stick. do NOT drop it.

good luck with n FD that old and has been sitting

Thanks Harry,
Grady is excellent, (I know he has passed, but he will always be alive on this forum). His comments about prepping the engine and doing a carefull break in are wise and appropriately cautious.
T77, I hope to pull the air cleaner assembly and see if the air flow plate can move. Is there any thing I can use to flush the FD, other than gas with some BK44 in it? I plan on pulling the injectors to purge the gunk and also disconnect the CSV, or thermo time switch, so I don't hydrolock the engine and wash down the cylinders.

Thanks,
chris
