Momo Prototipo or Momo 07
Trying to determine which would be more suited for Autocross and Track at Willow Springs. Not a tall guy. 5,8 180lbs. Would be on a 71 911T RSR Clone with 9x17 and 11x17 with 225/45-17 and 275/40-17. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Momo Prototipo or Momo 07
Those tires are woefully too narrow for 9 and 11” wheels.
I had the prototipo for a couple of years and changed it for a Mod07 this year. Love both. The prototipo feels oem vs the longer reach for turn signal stalk of the 07, but the 07 allows me to more naturally and comfortably with my study arms haha. Try both and see! Was thinking about the Mod7 for my build too. If you can find the shorter momo adapter, then the turn signal problem is not a problem.

I recently purchased a Prototipo after debating the same thing. I decided less variables were better and to avoid buying a wheel with a dish in it.
I experimented with a hub extender as well, but ended up liking it better without it. Easier to reach the turn signal. |

@911 SLANT
I am roughly the same build (10lbs more ;-p). I am running the prototipo and enjoy it in my 77. It took some getting used to as it was smaller than the stock 380mm steering wheel. I hate having to look around the wheel at some of the gauges (rare) and refuse to turn them lol. Cost of upgrades I guess.

The only real difference, besides appearance, is the amount of dish. I'm taller and with my seat in a comfortable position the proto is too far away from me, the mod 7 fits me better. You can space it out too.

Cory M, I agree with you on the Dish. Prototipo at 39mm and the 07 at 72mm dish. Me being 5,8 I have to slide seat closer to be comfortable with clutch pedal position. This puts me closer to steering wheel. I will try the Prototipo with 39mm dish. Seems closer to my stock wheel.

I had both. I liked the 07 better on the track with the hub extension.

Had 07 earlier and changed it to Prototipo, simple reason: because of the dish of Mod. 07 it was too close to me.

Thanks guys for all your input. I purchased both wheels and tried. I decided to go with the Momo Prototipo due to my height and arm length. I will be posting the Momo 07 on the parts section. Thanks again

I have the Prototipo but have always liked the Mod7. Wish the stripe at 1200 was another color besides yellow. I guess I could dye the stripe with a dye marker. Has anyone done this? Would like the extra dish of the Mod7.

I just replaced my tiny Sparco with a Mod 07.
I like it. Much better for me. |

I've used a Mod 07 in my 1987 Turbo for about 12 years - never had a single issue with reaching the turn signal stalk (some of you boyz must have Trump hands!

I went with the Mod7, because of the dish. It feels a little bit more comfortable to have the wheel closer to me, especially when driving in aggression. The turn signal stalk is a slight reach, but that took about a week to get used to. For those that don't like the yellow stripe, IIRC Jack Olsen dyed his grey.

I have had both on my 914-6. I am 5' 8" and the Mod 7 ended up being a little close to me as I like my seat pretty far forward, short legs and short arms.
