I didn't know that we'd lost Cris until now. I echo all the others who tip their cap to someone who directly or indirectly affected so many of us who love hotrodding old Porsches, and his zeal for both sports cars and friends.
I still remember getting printed R Gruppe newsletters in the mail 20+ years ago from Cris. Seems like yesterday.

What a loss. RIP Groupmeister. My condolence from Germany.

I'll miss Chris coming into our booth at Monterey. Always had a great conversation about our early 911's and Porsche art! He's select a few shirts and tell me to drive my car more. He always encouraged my to bring my early hotrod to the norcal drives. I never was able to make the schedule work-regret that very much now.

There was a funeral followed by a memorial service for Cris this past Saturday in Alameda, the gathered Porsches (tons of them) gave him a "21 gun salute", Porsche-style:

Banned but not out, yet..

About 1:00 AM Sunday after the Sonoma event had wrapped up I saw Cris walking by himself walking through the parking lot amidst the 911s. I said to him, “Look what you have put together.” He replied with a sly smile, “It’s not because of me, it’s because of all of you. Have a good night, man.” That’s the last time I spoke to Cris and it will stick with me until the end.

It was one of the most amazing, emotionally moving things I've ever seen.
