A quick video, and pics!

As I promised...here is a video clip (6 MB) and a couple pics.
http://bender.annenberg.edu/pelican/new99304.AVI

Hope the link works...if not maybe Todd can adjust it.

The pipes...I may cut them down a bit, not sure yet.
Also note the new euro tail lense and you can see part of the 3.6 grill badge.

And the new H4's

Did you ever ride between Kassel and Fulda. That's almost like track driving. Narrow turns with three lanes. Boy oh boy, that's the most amazing piece of autobahn I've been on. It leaves nail marks in wheels of lesser powered cars. Trust me.... But be sure your tires and suspension are up to it.

Man guys...I am sorry for the hold up on the video...but I am sure it will be available soon. The basic of the video is me holding the camera as I start up the monster 3.6 and the exhaust note just smacks you upside the head! Then I walk to the back of the car and show a quick shot and the exhaust is a little louder in the back...then I get in and give the throttle a couple quick taps...I mean very light 1/2" taps.

I can only assume that your "HOLY CRAP FAST" is even faster than my own patanted "STUPID FAST".
Can't wait for some in car footage.

Thanks guys...I do love the sound of the car since it states that she means business!!! Ed, we will have to make some runs someday...but at the moment the engine is way above my abilities and the cars clutch, tires, and brakes!!!

Ha Ha Shawn...yeah I guess it is just a tad faster, then again I think we should look it up on the definitions of fast checklist.

I put that video on loop and played it about 4-5 times. I was laughing out loud. That sounds great but I can only dream about how it drives.

I am officially jealous. You suck.

Please post more video.

Smitty if you want i can ask around for some Carrera 2 type calipers , i paid 250 euro,s for mine and the pads were 92 euros. A cheap way to get some better brakes if you upgrade to carrera rotors. I think thats more than enough stopping power for such a light car

Hey,

I have a '75 S too. I was wondering how the aerodynamics and suspension do at the higher speeds your car is capable of. My car seems dicey at 120 or so. How about yours?

Congratulations. All that power is going to spoil you to the point where nothing else seems adequate!

I did the Conversion on Howards Car because i like the Task to do it and i sell a lot of 3.6 Engines for Conversions to the US and it is nice to know what it takes to do it and give some help to the Buyers .
Howard seemed to be a nice Guy and it turned out he is ,Money wasnt a point at all for me .The Engine ( 993 ) and a Kit would have been the same Money .I didnt use a Kit because i have a Warehouse full of Porsche , i am well set up with Tools Parts and pretty good knowledge about 911s .
Can you do it below 10 K ? That is hard on the Edge i would say if figure 3-4 K for the Kit and some extra stuff (clutch , welding Exhaust etc.) you can if you do it yourself . If you have it done , Figure about 50 Hrs. of Work for a good Mechanic with the Kit to start with !!
Even here in Germany (Metric ,cm and Liters ) it was a lot of chasing Parts ( adapters,Tubes, Hoses etc.) Dont even think about it in the US
( inches,Feet and Gallons) buy a Kit instead .
Since Howard was on a Budget and the Clutch looked very new we decided to give it a Try . Forget it and buy a Clutch ( Sachs Powerclutch or so ) I fabricated a Gas Cable and a Guidingtube trough the Tunnel ,
better buy one ( PMS )even so it is 200 $ .
We found that the 993 Heatexchangers and cat is a good Alternative for a Muffler ,and you can quite it down by the Diameter of the Tips . I used 65mm ( 2,5 inch) instead of 3,5 inch with a muffler .I also installed the
Heating System .
With a early 964 Engine you can be between 9-10 K , with a late 964 or a 993 you will be between 10-11 K ,Varioram 12-14 K . This are DIY Numbers and some good Friends to help .
Have Fun : harald
