Targa Harness Bar
I have a 1973 Targa and am looking for a harness bar for my seat belts. It measures 44" across. Most of what I see are 48"+
Does anyone know of a harness bar that would fit in a 1973 Targa

I have one that came out of a "73 Targa. It mounts to the inertia reel anchor and to the shoulder belt pivot on the Targa bar on each side. The lower mounts are about 44" apart and the uppers about 48".

Do you have a picture of that installed so I can see it.
Are you sure on the measurements. Mine is 44" at the top seat mount points and 48" at the lower rear mount points. Can you confirm

These are the only photos I have. It was pretty much the first thing I took out of the car when I bought it. And yes, I had the dimensions backwards. 44" at the top.

I have a Stable Energies Harness Bar in my '73 Targa (http://www.stableenergies.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GB1). It is easy to fit and works well with my Schroth ASM 4 point belts. It takes me about 5 minutes to install or remove it. It also allows me to use my stock 3 point belts on the street.
Mine is no longer in their catalog, but this one is listed: https://www.stableenergies.com/harness-systems/4886-brey-krause-harness-guide-bar-porsche-911-targa-74-93 Bear in mind you need to be careful since harnesses are not compatible with many of the Porsche seats. Here is a shot of mine:  This install is not legal for DE due to the high back seats which interefere with the routing of the shoulder straps.
