North Hollywood Speedo

Hey guys if anyone is going by NH speedo I need someone to get Ralph there to call me back. I dropped a 904 combo gauge, 180 speedo and tell tale boost gauge to get silver bezels installed and a tach that was being made into a 10k silver button electronic tach. They were dropped off the day after Rennsport October 1, 2018! 22 months ago. Ralph does not return phone calls, email or Facebook posts on their Facebook page. Are they still in business? I am in New Mexico so it’s hard for me to just drive by there. Please let me know if anyone knows what is going on there.

At minimum I must say be thinking Palo Alto is the place at this point to get your gauges done!

Thanks
Randy

Work done

These guys are all gods in there own minds.I used to get a 180 mph conversion for 300 kph for less than $200.You are lucky if they call you back. They do not buy one face for 300 kph. They buy 50 for less than $50 APIECE.I used to pay $22 APIECE for 10.Ciao Fred

I have had good experience with NHS. I actually have shipped and received a full 911 cluster back within 6 months in 2019

I needed my 72 oil pressure/temp gauge changed to a 0-5 BAR dial for the pressure side. This was early March 2020 just before the COVID thing set in and the gauge was modified within a day and shipped back the next...perhaps because it was an easy turnaround item, but it left me very pleased with them.

unfortunate.
sounds like sorta expensive repairs - i guess they don't need the money.
i used to deal with them - got sticker shock last time around.
not much for less expensive alternatives .....,.

anyone try Seattle Speedo? it seems like a decent operation.

there has to be a mix up.
your approach - having someone drop by - seems like a good plan.
best of luck.

I don't understand this at all. I had the typical odometer failure in my 86 Carrera, so I called them. They answered immediately and told me that they had only a couple day backlog. So, I mailed them my speedo, and exactly one week later it arrived on my doorstop all repaired. And, they called me when they received my package, and again when it was all done ready to be shipped back. And, this is all recent experience. I received the speedo back last week.

I was there last month and they were open for business for sure !

I dropped off 2 speedos for repair and within 2 days i got a call back that work was completed. Headed over there to pick them up. They were busy packing and shipping instruments while I was there. What happens when you call, no answer ? When ever i have called, they pick up the phone. Give them another shout.... (818) 761- 5136

Whats your next option? I was all set to go with NHS but if there are hold ups and no communication I'd like other options too.

I'll never do business with these guys again. I had a conversation with them IN PERSON at the Phoenix Club (a couple years ago), removed and sent in my Tach for a conversion, and they wanted to charge twice the price. Plus it was pulling teeth to get a response from them.

Try Bob's Speedometer in Metro Detroit area. Used them a couple of times and had good luck.

Had Palo Alto work on my tach and speedometer and got great service and work from them. They are only 20 minutes away from me so it was nice to talk with them in person.

I think there is also a place in the Seattle area that I've heard good things about. Sorry, no additional info about them.

Hmm. I've been lucky to have had 2 good experiences with NoHo Speedo. A few years ago I had an odo gear fail, walked in with the unit, and they fixed it on the spot. Then, this past January I had an odo fail in another car. I dropped off the unit and they called back 2 days later with it repaired.

I’m getting ready to get a set of gauges done in the next month .
I’ve found a local guy on here but haven’t approached anybody yet as I don’t have any money to do anything right now .

But nh have a worldwide reputation .
I had heard of them years ago when I lived in England , and their reputation was stellar .
To a lesser extent pa too , but I think this was noThing to do with their credentials or reputation but more likely it’s easier for me to have a better recognition with Hollywood than Palo Alto

I’m sorry you’re having trouble , but please bear in mind running a small business in California cannot be the easiest thing to do right now .
I’m too far away to go visit , but can call them on your behalf tommorow if you like ?

Same here. Had mine repaired late last year. So fast and easy.
