Jim, don’t know anything about seat foam. Is it the material used?
Looking at the web site, I cannot find the seller’s address not telephone number which would make me really nervous to even give out my CC. Johan

I bought foam from Brent at Flat 6 Project back in the spring. He was great to deal with and the foam is a great reproduction of the NLA 80-84 seat foam. As stated, not correct for the earlier sport seats that the original poster has.

I wonder if he can create the 74+ foam from the 80+.

It just needs minor adaptation for the early/MK1 Recaro sport seats (with side lever) any upholster can handle.

Where are you seeing that? The only foam he has I can find is for the 81+ sport seats, and that's nothing like the 74-80 version Recaros.

That's not for the first gen G body sport seats, those are for the second version in this image, the 81-84 seats. They look similar but are totally different.
The confusing part of his description is that he's suggesting folks use these to upgrade regular 74+ seats to the 81+ style sport seats with this kit. Nothing at all to do with the first gen 74-80 seats though. ![]()

For those who can't get new foam. If you can disassemble the seat and get the foam out like the OP, then you can steam the foam several times. After a couple of days of steaming off and on, the foam will usually retake its shape. It's not perfect, but even if you can't find foam, you're not totally out of options.
