Singer will probably just buy 'em all.

But if Singer can create demand then it's more likely for this to gain traction. Five large actually seems like a good deal, .. then add all the other parts, & assembly cost, you have a nice engine. Singer certainly hasn't helped the regular-guy-enthusiast...concentrated wealth wins it all these days.

I just called one of my local dealers to see about one of these new cases. I'm supposed hear from them Monday. I'll post back if they're still available. I'll probably buy one and put it in a closet for a few years.

What!?!? Closet ? Throw a nice slab of glass over it. Would make a cool coffee-table.

Interesting as Catorce seemed to be close to producing them as well, perhaps with some improvements. Regardless, a supply would be nice to have.

The article is not clear on what style case Porsche will be selling. The article states '84 and to 1998 993. So what does that mean. Some of each?
Maybe someone has better information?

Dealer called, the 100 are sold out. Says due to demand, there may be more coming though, didn't say how many. Interdasting....

Rehashing this old thread.. a couple of pm's asked "what does a blank case look like?" Well, I have one that's kinda put away on the shelf for a build, but discovered I had another sitting around with guts attached to it.. so here's a shot of the # boss..

I can't really get it, now if there is that tremendous demand for it, and Porsche has all the tooling to mass produce it, why they don't keep producing and selling them to the public for the listed price? .. Just like the American muscle car products, you can see GM, Mopar and Ford still producing a lot of muscle car engines and parts and selling them for a reasonable prices as long as there is a demand for them. Just a loud thinking falks!

This is all small potatoes to Porsche, I'd guess. We'll need to count on the repro cases coming through.

Compare that to the demand for a replacement air-cooled engine. |
