How do i determine if my car has Boge or Bilstein?

May be a silly question, but I don't understand how to determine if my car has Boge or Bilstein struts. This is an 85 Carrera. They are green, but there is no label on them. I don't want to buy the wrong inserts.

Humbly,
Mark

If bilsteins are in boge struts, the dust cover is green and the strut is black. Most Carreras came with boge. Bilsteins have a big rollpin through the bottom of the strut.

Sort of hard to see due to the road grime but Bilstein's have an external pin that locks the insert rod to the outer casing. It can be seen here just above the ball joint

Ah! Thanks. Mine are certainly green, but I'll have to look for that pin.

With Bilstein's, do you tap the pin out and the insert pulls out, then?
