Front speaker replacement question 87 targa

Do I need to remove the entire door panel to replace the stock 5.25 front speakers?

Seems like I can just pop off the speaker grill and pull the speaker out?.. is there something else back there holding it in.

Car is an 87 targa.

No need to remove door card, but you will want to remove the door pocket. Easy job.

Just pop off the speaker grill and unscrew the speaker. You will need small stubby for 1 or 2 screw that the cover is in the way

That looks handy, but how is this for ingenuity?
