Has Anyone Opened Up Their Thermovalve?

While trying to replace some vacuum lines, I pulled the front of the thermovalve away from the housing. Some pieces popped out and are shown in the 2nd picture. I put the thing back together and it stays open, even when I apply 12v to it, so it has failed. There are so few pieces and they seem to go together only 1 way so I think I have it together correctly. However, it looks like there may be ghost of a small part in the center of the closeup of the cap which I may be missing.

Since new ones seem to be mostly NLA, I'd like to try to repair it if possible.

Has anyone opened theirs up and is able to tell me if I have all the required pieces, or can you show me a pic of the internals in their completed state so I can compare?

Thanks.

Thanks for that SkiVT.

Looks like I'm missing flexible metal disk (#5) and rubber O ring (6) with 6 being the part that has left the ghost mark on the housing.

I'll check my garage floor and engine compartment. Maybe I'll get lucky. If not, I'll see what I can fab up.

I opened my TTV a couple years ago and couldnt get it to hold back together. The linked thread was as helpful as possible. At that time our host had the part so I bought a new one. Looks like its now a very difficult part to find new.

Michael,

Do you still have your old thermotime valve? I would be interested to have it for my tests and give you something in return. I had some luck rebuilding them as long as all the internal parts are good.

A fellow Pelicanparts member gave me 3 small bags of o-rings containing 100 pcs. per bag (total = 300 pcs) a while back and never had a chance to use them until working with the thermotime valve. Below is the refurbished TTV under vacuum.

Thanks Tony. I am missing part E so it's incomplete. SkiVT is sending me his old one so I'll see how that does and then get back to you if I need a new one.
