Dummy bumps fuse box with gas tank, advice needed..

That being me of course. Didn't work on the 911 for a bit, and decided to install gas tank.

I bumped the fuse box, 3 fuses came out and bottom of box is loose. They won't go back in, and the bottom plastic bit is slightly lower.

Bending the copper? Tabs up doesn't put enough tension.

Felt frustrated and left it for the night.

Pictures might help. Sounds like the plastic might have broke that holds the contacts in place.

My old fuse box was partially cracked in half. We replaced it.

Where did you buy fuse block? I have a 1981.

I can post a picture, but nothing to see. The lower left 3 fuses is down about 1mm.

I might try epoxy?

It's moved down 1mm bottom part, where the 4 fuses are missing.

Sigh!!

This is confusing, as the distance between contacts of the 3 missing fuses appears no different than that of the one to the right of them. Does it shift down when fuses are installed?

Anyway, it may just be time to get a new panel. Our host, as well as Classic Retrofit (blade type), sells them.

Definitely looks like it cracked. you can see it in the area I circled on the photo with the crack starting at the tip of the arrow.

Yep. If you don’t want to buy a new one, pull the one you have and fix it with some epoxy and a clamp.

Just needed to sleep on it. It pulls down neatly and I put epoxy and rubber bands. Its cracked enough to take off a tiny bit of tension. Something tells me it's always been like this, but bumping it revealed itself.

Happy accident!!

I will order blade type but that's for another day.

I made an impulse buy at Rennsport and bought one of the replacement blade style fuse panels.
It's still in a cabinet. If it ain't broke.

New rule, only ordering parts that I will install. I have a basement full of 'one day....' stuff haha.

i recently converted to classic moden fuse panel and best spend this year...except..that damned cover never seems to engage the bottom tangs well which for OCD folks like me is driving me nits..no amount of adjusting vean bake it fit...i think classics fuses stick out further and there just isnt room for the old cober..need something deeper by 3-4 MM. I sen suggestion to Bryn at Achtung :-)
