Black deck lid on GP white SC?

Just bought a ‘78 SC GP white coupe with a rear tail. Thought I would hate the tail but actually really like it now. However, was thinking about getting a black deck lid as an alternate to swap in and out for special events, shows, fun runs or C&C. It would give the car a kind of hot rod look and personalize it for me. Does anyone have any pics of such a modification? And is this a really bad idea?

I didn't know it was a look people are going for.

I thought it looked like someone had bought a new deck lid and hadn't got around to getting it painted.

Magnus Walker's fault I guess. This miss-matched look.

MW has nothing to do with it.

either this or banged up racecars had to be set up quickly with parts after being hit. no time for matching paint

Not black and white but this may help you visualize. Changed out the stock lid yesterday for a silver one I picked up recently. Was planning on having it painted and then thought I might like it. Showed it to my wife and daughter who both said to keep it as is. When I said it looked like an old hotrod my wife said yes and she liked it. Always nice to have some positive reinforcement

It is your car, do to it whatever you like. You don't need approval from any of us. It is just a car.

Personally I don't care for a black tail on a non black car, so on my car, it is all Grand Prix white, except for the rock chip guards on the rear fenders.

Oh, and I actually prefer sugar scoops! My car, my way.

Nice car Glen! I like the white Fuchs. That's what makes our hobby great, many variations. I like to run my stock decklid occasionally too. Tails, like wheels are easy to change and good for variety.
