I might get shot for saying this, but if anyone wants to dip their toe into the synthetic oils, I have been running a custom 70/30 blend of VR1 20W-50. 7qts of VR1 conventional and 3 qts of VR1 synthetic. Prior to this my SC motor had Mobil 1 15W-50, so it was already on synthetic. Can't say that I can tell a difference. Idea is to get some of the lubricity benefits of the synthetic while keeping mostly conventional oil. Not my idea, but thought it was interesting.
