Vote: Do you think the SC is anemic?

anemic - lack of vitality
vitality - physical vigor
vigor - intensity of action or effect

no way.... it's a great car for the price and for 180hp's it'll scoot along just fine.

it's all relative...

I grin when I hit the loud pedal. I giggle when I go around corners. Case closed.

Question

Compared to what? For the money? 0-60? quarter mile? Road course? It's all relative, as nostatic posted.

It's nimble enough and I've taken some weight off of it, that and the SSIs make it a very Fun car. Besides with a nice suspension set up who can complain!

If you have to ask, please donate your car to charity, return your SCWDP membership, and go lay by your bowl!

It's the CIS -- the Spawn of Satan. Put carbs on it and it will be much more fun. For even more fun put on SSIs.

The early cars are the "best" - the SC is a very reasonable ride in between those and the 993.

well as anSC owner...I think if you own a tired neglected SC it would def be anemic

I am surprised everytime I find some other surprise the PO left for me how much better the car runs...

I have a 200K SC that I will be the first to admit is not the best condition engine. The PO left me with a handful, and honing my porsche/car fixing skills it leave a bit to be desired, but I am learning...

with the recent 964 cams and 100% smog legal exhaust setup, and now with a fresh rebuilt dizzy (courtesy or tyson/TRE) the car def not anemic

I think a stock SC in great condition will put a grin on your face....

We all know that the SC is not the powerhorse of the 911 family...but if you have it dialed in right it is a great car

and if you want to do some simple mods like 964 cams and SSI the grin gets a bit wider

MJ,
Can you elaborate on your exhaust setup?

Thanks,
Markus

right now I have stock collectors and cat with an unplugged O2 sensor

but I have passed my smog and plan to put in a euro premuffler aka cat-bypass pipe

the muffler will stay OEM 1 in 1 out

I had catastrophic distributor failure the other day...tyson/TRE hooked me up...rebuilt my unit...my dizzy advance was not working at all...but now that is fixed too...it has a little more pep now

But the backfire caused a vacuum leak which I will be chasing soon...so the idle is not 100% great right now...

the premuffler opens up the bottom range of the RPM, the 964 open up the top end...

if you still think that is anemic you need to move over to big block chevys that go fast in straight lines, get a car with more then 8 cyl...preferably 10 or 12...or start spending amounts of money that have an excess of 5 zeros...not including cents

Do you want to be tried for treason?

Backoff guys...I posed the question basis some other guys on this BBS giving the SC a hard time. I love my SC and, IMO, it is definately NOT anemic. It kicks ass on the track and only a few (e.g. 2002 turbos have been passing me).

I just thought that maybe it is anemic and I just didn't realize it. So I have put it to a vote. Apparently there are some guys that think it is anemic. I'm glad to see more people think it isn't.

My SC is more capable a car than I'll ever be a driver.

Just the same, who among us has never wanted more power?
