Engine removal jack adapter
I was thinking about purchasing the Wilding Engineering jack adapter from our host, but it requires a floor jack with a 1 3/16" pin on a removable pad. The problem is I cant find that style of floor jack anywhere. All the new floor jacks use a female type jack pad so the tool wont work.
Has anyone else run across this? It looks like a great tool though. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/PW011000002.htm?pn=PW-01-100-0002

Im pretty sure thats a standard diameter for bigger floor jacks with removable pads. Could always go to a harbor Freight or local auto parts place and measure one.

I bought that jack adapter and had that problem. Wound up buying another jack with the correct size receiver hole. Personally I found using my ATV jack has better stability and control.

I bought one at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $10. Unfortunately, I need to replace the bottle jack

Yep, dealt with exactly this. Looked far and wide at numerous new models and some used ones, couldn’t find one with removable pad. Wound up buying a motorcycle jack from harbor, drilling a hole to receive the adapter and then tack welding it for stability. Ended up working great

That doesnt make sense . They sell transmission adapters that attach to floor jacks and I even saw HF sells a spreader that fits in the the jack.
The ATV / motorcycle jacks are great for engine removal. Ive pulled many corvair engines with them. |

Most ATV jacks have a fixed frame sticking up at the rear to support the mechanism. This can get in the way, especially if you leave the muffler attached.
There are ATV jacks that are like a wide floor jack and have no fixed frame sticking up. Like this: ATV jack More expensive, of course.
