Just got offered one of these for $2700. Friend uses it for his 1 ton Cummins dually and lowered track cars. It hasn't been used commercially so not beat to death.

I had a Rotary 10K but picked up a 12K,stage 3 arms from the local Hertz garage that closed. Much better for the taller/heavier vehicles. Much more peace O mind. If you have the height. And yes space does disappear quickly. 40X60 and could use more!

Everything including extensions to lift the truck come with it. A friend in the diesel parts business has it and uses it as I would. It's 2 hrs round trip from here and he has a friend that installs for a living. I'll probably throw money at transport and installation.

I'd have to go get a trailer, take the lift down, load, bring it here, unload, return the trailer then get labor help & figure out how to install.

I read on some sites that install takes 3 hrs for someone that knows the process. It's probably be 2-3 times that the 1st time plus the going to get it. Much easier to rub that problem with a few Ben Franklins.

I’ve had my “Ever Eternal” Scissor Lift for 12 years. Never any projects that I haven’t been able to access.

I bought it directly from a Chinese Company and I was the importer. It cost $1,600 plus $60 shipping to US. Customs and all the BS charges were another $500.

Step back, consider requirements,dimensions, and what you have to work with

Allmost everybody loves their lifts. what do you need and what will work????
It sounds like you have the headroom and space to make just about anything work. but check the height requirements.
What does the lift require for support, how much concrete thickness, steel reinforcement?? A 10 k lift might spec more than a normal 4 inch slab
Some of the larger lifts may require three phase, not just 30 amp 240 volt - is that available. Some lifts need air???
Who is going to do the install??? A few hours isn't going to cut it.

Deals can be had on used equipment. Do you have a sharp tech to help you do a PPI on the equipment???

A side note: if a shop is going out of business, they may have all kinds of goodies available, tall adjustable stands, parts bins, fastener selections, PORSCHE parts, all kinds of tools, compressor, parts washer, beer refrigerator!!!!! bring cash.

If additional storage is your prime reason for a lift go 4 post. If working on your cars is the prime reason go with a 2 post. Both types of lifts will work for working or storage.

I feel the same!

Does the scissor lift sway, wobble or move at all? How about when you’re really yanking on something and cursing loudly?

I believe, I have had a 4-post and a scissor-lift, that a 2-post rotary may be your sweet spot. Because of the heavy, long truck and the smaller cars, I think the scissor lifts won't fit well. Were are still in the plans submission phase of building a 1550 sq. ft garage and we plan to do a 2-post lift in that.

It is really stable. I’ve had everything from a motorcycle to my 2018 Ford F350 4x4 on it. It moves just a little when pulling hard on something. I was cautious the first few years, but I feel very comfortable with it now. The cylinder housings are about 6” in diameter and the shaft are 3 and 3-1/2” in diameter. Power requirements are 220v single phase, 15amp and requires an air supply to open the latches.

I'm happy to say the lift is in - an Atlas 2-post. We used it yesterday on an F150 and found that I need to bring more tools out. I've been keeping tools at 2 places and don't really have what's needed at either place.

There were new tires on this truck and somehow the lug nuts were on so tight that a 3/8 breaker in a jack handle broke. Some of the lug nuts were also rounded and only a 6 pt socket would grab. I haven't looked up the torq specs but they are only 100# on my 00 Cummins and these are smaller lugs.

I've learned that a lift is WONDERFUL and that I don't want to hassle with building a house. Also reminded by the lug nuts that no one works on my vehicles (except one local indy who is a much better mechanic than I'll ever be).

The 86 goes up in the air this week to see what I see. It's been on the ground except for when I bought it. I have to look up the jack points so as not to bugger something up.

I have a 4 post. It works for me as I have a 911, then a light Classic Mini (nose heavy) and then a 65 Vette with a big block engine. I don't worry about being to heavy on one end when it's up. Some work arounds as with other lifts as well but I like sitting on my roller stool and sliding around looking at the bottoms of my cars.

Lift is in and working. Atlas 2-post 12 ton looks new because it was in a hobby shop and not subject to commercial use. We had my son's truck on it last weekend.

I'm going up to the shop to try the 911 and have concerns about the lift points. I've looked at youtube university and searched. Hopefully that and common sense will sort it out.

While we have all the lift experts here in one place; may I ask your opinion on what's going on here.

I've got a simple Chinese made scissor lift that looks like and is even the same colour as a Bendpak. Looks like the one in the pic below.

It lifts up fine, but when I'm lowering it foamed up hydraulic oil comes out of the breather on the fluid holding tank.. I can have the oil level low so it doesn't "boil" over but I can't lift the car as high. I've bleed out the system a number of times and taken the holding tank off to look for anything add. But no success. Any ideas?
