Don't Sell Your Porsches !

Made a quick video before work.

https://youtu.be/gDwJtI4OApg

If you like your air cooled 911, my advice is do not sell as It'll be very expensive to replace.

These are terrific, reliable classics that will continue to rise in value imho.

Don't you dare like or subscribe lol.

Matt

I think it would be a good thing if the prices dropped significantly over the medium term (10 years), perhaps by 1/2. Just enough to keep those who care keeping them in good shape, but low enough to get another or buy spare engines/parts. I don't see this happening anytime soon unfortunately, you have to own one to know.

Hi Phil, I definitely understand where you're coming from and anything could happen given the last few years lol.

I don't see well heeled owners of these cars allowing that to happen. I'm not terribly confident in today's US economy but we always seem to bounce back from poor leadership.

My point is; when we as a country get back on track these cars will likely be out of reach for most, so hold onto what you've got!!

I don't understand why anyone would sell their car if they still enjoy it.
It's only money guys.

Great video. I still own my first 71 911T Porsche. I've owned for 40 years. I've had many between that time, but always kept the first. Its unbelievable how much they have gone up in price. Its a true love to own one.

With my car I've never factored in what it cost to buy and what it's worth now. i just drive it and enjoy the fact it's mine.

The funny thing is I originally built this car to sell.

I guess I've kinda boxed myself in here.

I get attached to cars.

Post a picture (note I didn't abbreviate picture) of your 911 you cannot part with.

You can go back and edit in your car too if you've already commented

My son sent me this ad. So true.

On another positive note, I just bought and had installed a 12 ton commercial Atlas 2 post lift. It's big enough for my 3/4 ton Dodge Cummins and and low enough for the 911.

A friend had it and installed it at his business but can't make himself go down to work on weekends when he's there all week. He used it to work on his track cars so it hasn't been beat.

Junkman, your ad' reminded me...

About 29 years ago I arrived at my mom's house in the 911. She said "Great car! In ten year's time it will still be a Porsche, whereas if you had bought a new Japanese car it would be just a pile of junk." Ha, 29 years later she's still correct.

Bill,

Buying my first 911 had me feeling a little guilty bc no one in my family had ever had one i guess and my father always drove a simple work truck so to clear the air I asked him should I buy a used 1986 Porsche 911? (This was in 1998)

His reply really stunned me he said "Yes, they're made for racing so they're probably a very reliable car when simply driven on the street."

So I got the 3,2 and let him drive it and he hustled that car on his first try better than anyone I've driven with!! Like he'd been waiting his whole life to drive one. Sadly that car was totaled 13 years later.

I told my 2 sons that I could "leave them a little cash or a shop and a 911. Good thing you can drive a straight shift ".

I'm sure you're going to love that lift. I'm selling my house right now and the plan is that the next place will have a garage big enough for a lift. Major game changer!
