In admiration of your work and resourcefulness.

I trust some outside of the box thinking will lead to new paths, sent a PM.

Following along. You are a lucky man… nothing beats family! I hope you’re as comfortable as you can be given the circumstances- you have all of our best wishes here.
Please keep posting- let’s see this car pull out of the garage under its own power!

The only thing worse than fitting headliners is fitting windows! They are also two of the most rewarding steps so hopefully they get sucked into the challenge of it all!

Having 3 generations on hand to tackle the tough stuff is awesome.

Hope you're hanging in, Johan, I think about you and Sandi and the kids often and am sending you good vibes from the North! Obviously you and your kin are always welcome to drop me a line if you need any 911 advice!

Thank you Ken and Jonny for your kind words. Yes, it’s absolutely SPECIAL to have three generations working on the Transplant. What has surprised me the most is how much my 17 year old grandson has absorbed from this old man while hanging around to garage,
or gone for another ride in Grandad’s Orange.
Cheers,
Johan

Johan, I've been lurking on this thread for years, and I just want to say how saddened I was to read about your health issues.

Sending you positive vibes from south of the border.

Local Windshield installer Jim Edwards did a fabulous job installing the dent and rear glass with genuine Porsche rubber and bright mouldings.

It was a good day!
Cheers,
Johan

Now I RANT

Three years ago I bought these lightweight plastic rear parking/brake light assemblies from a well known UK Porsche parts supplier in an attempt to reduce rear weight. The web pictures looked great but when I got them, I was really disappointed.
Not only do the wiring connectors not match, they are flimsy, subject to early corrosion, exposed to the dirt and grime thrown up from the rear wheels and the actual light bodies are different on the back side. When I complained, the answer was from one of their support staff was that he had similar ones on his Porsche for three years with no problem. The subsequent back and forth via email got me nowhere.
Needless to say, I got some new ones from my local Porsche dealership here in Canada which fortunately cost less than importing from the U.S..
Still peeress me …….last time I’ll deal with those jockeys who apparently have a good reputation in the UK.

END OF RANT
Cheers,
Johan

Well folks not a great first post for me.
My amazing father Uwon/Johan past away this past Monday via MAID at his house surrounded by family.
The last four months battling cancer finally came to an end - and it was time. Getting old sucks, getting old with cancer sucks more.

My son and I will continue to slowly work away at Sweet Transplant - and will be asking for some guidance and help on this thread for sure in coming days.

Thanks everyone for the past kinds words about my father and help he has given / received over the last decades of being a Porsche enthusiast. He was an amazing man - I’m driving his previous build “RST” regularly, and puts a smile on my face every time I think of him and turbo kicks in!

Take care of your family and loved ones.

Eric

Eric,
I am so sorry for your loss. Johan was an informed poster on several Porsche related boards. We spoke about his RST at length. May his passion and creative spirit live in our memories.

Eric, so sorry to hear of your father's passing. The last few postings form him seemed to indicate that he had some more time left to see this project further along, but regrettably not to be.

We all come with an expiration date, and we don't know when that is.

So sorry for your loss. Too quick.

Amazing thread in so many respects. The kind of build many of us wish we had the time, space, talent and vision to undertake. He has left Albert in good hands.

Regards

Sorry for your loss. I met your dad at DE’s at Mosport years ago when he had his other 911 that was wrecked. He helped me out once when my ignition switch failed.
He was a true gentleman.

Eric,

I'm sorry to hear your Dad has left us - I've been off the forum and didn't know until Paul/Brookieslayer told me over coffee today. I've been in touch enough with Johan to have been aware of his struggles over the past while.

Please pass my condolences on to your Mom and the rest of your family. Johan always mentioned the time he was spending with you and the kids whenever we corresponded. We never met - or even spoke on the phone! But I do count him as a good friend and a great guy.

Our Porsche brethren south of the border may not even be aware of Canada's MAID (Medical Assistance In Dying) rules and what a blessing they are for people suffering through terminal illness. Rest in Peace, Johan.

Sorry to hear of Johan’s passing. Hopefully you and your son can enjoy the build together and think of him while you’re driving the car.
