If it was built by man it can be repaired by man.

Gonna enjoy this thread and anything Michael posts on his U Tuby channel. No one, in my opinion, has a better and more enjoyable Porsche-content Chanel than Rennch. Everyone needs to subscribe and get the numbers up to help encourage more sponsors to help kick this new project in high gear!

My dad was an auto mechanic for 40+ years, this was one of his favorite sayings

Just tuning in here after discovering this thread, and having visited Michael in his garage in LA this summer to check out his various 911 projects. If you have seen his super cool Grey Ghost 911 that he also built on a rusted out early chassis, many moons ago with very little experience, skills, and tools, you will know that he is not one to shy away from a wild project.

Keep us posted on your progress Mike, and inspiring others to rebuild the few cheap-ish rustbucket and saving them from the scrap yards!

@rennch. Hey bud! In the UK, your shell would be considered pretty sound!

You might consider heading over to https://www.ddk-online.com where we regularly see shells (sea shells?) restored from little more than a VIN plate and rust sweepings.

Just one example (shows bracing and jigging): http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=71331

That rust is no big deal.

Welding looks fine.

It's already an awesome car!
