80.5 mm Piston Sources
Seeking a source of 80.5mm pistons for our original 914-6 engine. I understand it is the same 2.0L as the 1969 911T.
Doing a complete rebuild. Cylinders have been inspected at the machine shop. Found to be a bit rusted, but can be bored 1st oversize to 80.5mm. I can't think of a good reason not to reuse them, given they appear original. Neither part found in the factory parts catalog for 1st oversize pistons (80.5mm) Mahle 901-103-038-50 or Schmidt 901-103-038-51 are available anywhere I can find. The closest option I've located is Wossner for 80.5 bore size. It lists 9.1:1 compression ratio. The original 914-6 was listed at 8.6:1. I've not yet researched the implications of that. Don't have any experience with Wossner. Sources and / or suggestions appreciated. |

Do you have a source for those? At their site I only find 3.150 (80mm) and 3.189 (81mm). No results for 3.17 or 80.5mm.
