SC parking brake cable question

Happy Easter Pelicans,

I have a parking brake cable part question. The new cable end I ordered as a replacement is too wide for the tube under the car. The car is a 1982 SC sunroof coupe.

Cables came from ECS tuning, but are Porsche manufactured.
Correct Porsche part # 91142455104 was on the bag for the cables from ECS. Apparently the part/number has been superseded twice after speaking with Don Wise Autowerks in Campbell.

Upon starting to feed the first cable into the tube from underneath I realized there was no way it would fit. I compared and measured the new and the old cables and there is 1/16 " difference in width.

Does anyone have any experience with this, did they send 964 cables by mistake, or is there a a bulletin for modification ? Picture attached below and thanks :

Thanks for response. I had thought of that, but its my understanding its installed from the rear/ underneath ? Have you had experience feeding them through from the interior and did you use the these replacement cables ?
