Velocity Motorwerks
Does anybody have any experience with this shop in St. Augustine, FL? I know a high end collector who needs some work done to his water cooled cars.
TIA Nick

Never heard of them.
Your other thread said Jacksonville. Try Pulse Racing Services. The owner is named Terry Heath. He's good people.

Velocity Motorwerks looks good and has a good reputation, I just can't locate anyone who's dealt with them.

I was at velocity a couple of weeks ago. No service, just stopped in to chat. They seem very knowledgeable, wide variety in the service lot...air and water cooled, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes, etc.

I decided to take my 996 to these guys because they were the only shop certified to install the IMS bearing through LN Engineering in the area. Coming from the Ford/GM world I was reluctant to try somewhere new as I had a very poor experience with another local (non Porsche) shop.
Part of the IMS install process involves checking bore scoring/ camshaft deviations/ evaluating the existing bearing. Unfortunately some of these steps were missed during the process. When the owner realized, he requested my car back, performed the missed inspection, noticed cam guides needed replacement and performed the replacement pro-bono, since it was his shop that missed it. Not only the guides, but also the chains were replaced, as well as spark plug tubes… when asked why, they responded with. “ it’s common for these things to fail so we just replaced them”. Needless to say, he could have very easily swept it all under the rug and I’d be SOL. It’s very tough to find a shop that will stand behind their work like that, at least from my past experiences. I will continue to use Velocity as long as I have the 996, as I know things will be done right. |

Velocity Motorwerks
Hello all, Velocity Motorwerks has been in business since 2011 and the owner has years of Porsche experience. They do everything from maintenance, repairs, programming (FAZIT Also), Module replacement, diagnostics and engine transmission building. They build both air cooled and water cooled engines. The owner is big on making sure his guys are trained thoroughly as he is a stickler for perfection. Great place and great group of guys!!!

Somebody hired a social media manager and created two accounts and posted one reply for each?

If you are implying that my response is not authentic let me clarify. I work for Velocity Motorwerks and replied to this thread only because this post was brought to my attention by a client who replied and let me know. His response is in the above thread under Camarocane. So no we are not a marketing company and no we did not get paid for our responses.

I’ve also used them for repairs on my 996. No complaints they are very attentive and everything was done as promised. Not a diss but I wish Terry was still at Pulse Racing/ Mack Motorwerks just more of my style of shop. Anyone know what happened to him. Anyways not trying to sidetrack but you shouldn’t have any issues at Velocity.

You say "They", implying that you are a neutral third party. And then you subsequently disclose that you work there. As someone pointed out, you have a low post count and you write a glowing review. It's kinda shady. I've no comment about the quality of the work, it's just the practice is similar to hiring shills to write reviews - seems disingenuous. But that's just me. You do you. Don't know this guy, but if he were trying to hide his connection to the shop, he would not have written it as he did (like an "about" on a webpage) or called himself "Porschewerks". One did not have to be a detective to tell (as we all did).
It appears that he was simply providing the description of their shop. Wrenches are not necessarily authors or social media guys. Treating a new poster here with disrespect just makes the entire community just a little bit smaller. Let's hope he comes back to give us some DIY advice (like owners/employees of many premiere shops do). It is good for business. Welcome Porschewerks!

Still here

Had a similar thought here. Kinda harsh of a response to someone just sharing a positive opinion about his workplace.
Welcome to the forum. |
