123 Ignition and Delta mark 10b

I just installed a 123 programable distributor and was thinking I should remove the Delta Mark 10b I currently have in the 1972 911T MFI I just bought. Any thoughts on this? I suspect the Delta Mark 10b has issues and don't think I should bother repairing it.

You should be able to just have a simple setup like this;

If the tach wire was originally connected to the coil, use that setup. If it was connected to the points, you can try connecting it with resistor (try 10K) to the coil.

With the 123 Ignition distributor, is removing the Delta Mark 10 going to make it run less well?

The spark from the 123 should be as good if not better than the old Mark 10.

How do you like the 123 Distributor? I am considering one for my 1970 T as it's cheaper than having them refurb my Marelli.

I would wager the car will be down on power and have degraded throttle response.

'Dave' wont agree (and I wont be drawn on a discussion) so just try it with and without the Delta CDI or any CDI for that matter. You can still trigger it off the 123 - works great!

My dad had Delta Mark 10b cdi boxes on our boat in the '70s.. I remember they had a bypass switch on them, you could use the CDI function, or regular ignition..
