replacing door seals on 83 sc
Is there something special I should know about replacing the door seals on my sc?
Will they just pull out and push in? Is there glue involved.? Thanks, hughc |
Hughc,
I simply pulled the old ones out, did a average effort of removal of adhesive from the channel. Replaced with a 20$ uro seal, works great. No glue for me, if it ever comes out of the channel I'll glue it in, but for now don't see any need. Phil |

I'll try it your way. Cheers |
I didn't use glue either, they have stayed in the channels. Easier to get them out "next time"!

I used a little double stick tape in the area i felt were going to lift

I just did my 72 and used Porsche seal. I tried two other brands and the door will not shut correctly, even after trying to adjust it. Maybe it's a long hood thing. As far as adhesive I needed a bit in the floor corners.... the rest stayed put and needed a bit of help due to new paint. for adhesive I used the yellow 3M 08001 Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive sparingly.
