Porsche Crest Grinding down 964 sunroof cables

I bought new 964 sunroof cables for 1981 911 SC. I know that I need to grind/file down the top and bottom of the ends to make them fit in the original guides and I was wondering if anyone had measured the thickness of the cables after grinding them down or had a photo of what it looked like when done correctly. My original plastic ones have shattered and disintegrated so I have no measurement reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I didn't take a photo of the results after grinding. For me it was just grind and test fit until it worked.

And all the fuzz needs to be removed. Fun. No lube on reassembly. Clean and dry.

Here is what mine looked like after filing if anyone is curious. The one piece of information that I didn't see written anywhere else was that my cables had large burs on the end of the coils that I needed to take down as well for them to fit in the guides.
