Short shift linkage
I recently purchased a 74 911 with short shift linkage. I’m trying to determine who manufactured the linkage. Are there that many models available?
Thanks for your help. |

This is afaik the Porsche original short shift kit, with a different shift lever (raised pivot point) and elevated shift lever bearing:
![]() This is the normal version of the shift lever bearing (911 424 124 02): ![]() The reduction of the shift travel is achieved by lifting the pivot point of the shift lever. Not only the the shift lever bearing must be replaced, all other parts as shown in the picture/kit are required too. Our host lists several versions, any has it's advantages and disadvantages. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/DKL2/POR_DKL2_PRFTRC_pg1.htm Also there are more 3rd party versions available. I got the original Porsche version together with the unfortunately no more available Seine Systems Gate Shift kit, which I highly recommend. https://web.archive.org/web/20220416043710/http://seinesystems.com/GateShift-1.htm Thomas
