Interior light don’t work and fuse keeps blowing
![]() ![]() The fuse missing won’t accept fuse. It blows right away. The frayed wire heats up when I try new fuse. Interior convenience lights don’t work. Not sure if unrelated. How do I figure out what is wrong |

That frayed line that blows the fuses must be a power wire that is grounding out somewhere along it's length. You'll have to be a detective and determine where this is happening.

Try disconnecting your power seats and then try another fuse. IIRC they share power withthe overhead lights

Power seats share a 25 amp fuse with AC. This is not the fuse that is blowing here.
The fuse that is blowing must be the 5 amp fuse that protects power for inside lights, clock and radio. The black wire that can be seen on the pic under this fuse is the same that is burning or frayed at its other side on first pic (flat connector). It goes to both inside lights and carries power at all times, including when car is stopped. There must be a short to ground somewhere around where the wire is frayed.
