Early/Prototype Carrera decals?

Ahoy,

I'm going with the viper green accent package on my light yellow '73 911t rally inspired build and I stumbled across a couple of vendors selling what they label as the "early" or "prototype" Carrera decal style. Does anyone have any more info on exactly what and when these were used? Any thoughts on which style would be more appropriate or look better on my '73? Thanks for the help!

All of the light yellow/viper green longhoods I've seen have had the usual "negative" Carrera decal style, but I definitely think the early/prototype style has an early 70s vibe to it.
