Vapor/fume expansion tank. Plumbed to the fuel tank and then back to the charcoal filter in the engine bay.
I deleted mine with no adverse effects/smells though others may have different experiences. |
Item 2 in the first post of the thread I attached is the tank you show. The rest of thread explains the system.

I always delete it and more importantly the heavy charcoal canister. The charcoal canister iirc has the weight of a nice size brick. Toss it on a shelf. Then find more lbs to remove.

Charcoal canisters provide important function in terms of vocs unless I’m mistaken. I take the weight in trade for cleaner air. But that’s me.

Thanks guys. Looks like ill bin it. I cant imagine anyone would want it for an all original resto. That would be insane, right…

FWIW, if the tank is not cracked, it is worth good money.
Also, you fo want a vapor recovery system so your garage and passenger cabin does not smell of gasoline. The thread I linked above and others discuss options to address this. |
A URO replacement is $92.25 and can be seen here https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/91120107300.htm?pn=911-201-073-00-M253&bc=c&SVSVSI=18390#kitsComAnc
