What is this reservoir in the fender?

Started dragging suff out i need to get rid of to make a little more room to work on the 72T. Do i keep this reservoir when i lose the fenders? Its rather large, but up front . Not sure what how it functions.

Garage
Vapor/fume expansion tank. Plumbed to the fuel tank and then back to the charcoal filter in the engine bay.

I deleted mine with no adverse effects/smells though others may have different experiences.

Item 2 in the first post of the thread I attached is the tank you show. The rest of thread explains the system.

I always delete it and more importantly the heavy charcoal canister. The charcoal canister iirc has the weight of a nice size brick. Toss it on a shelf. Then find more lbs to remove.

Charcoal canisters provide important function in terms of vocs unless I’m mistaken. I take the weight in trade for cleaner air. But that’s me.

FWIW, if the tank is not cracked, it is worth good money.

Also, you fo want a vapor recovery system so your garage and passenger cabin does not smell of gasoline. The thread I linked above and others discuss options to address this.
