For HP-junkies, Juan and rest of the gang

Well mega-horsepower Porsche that a friend of mine was building (i indirectly helped him find some parts) is finally put together and had a oportunity to show it's colours on the strip. Result is rather measle 11.44 sec 1/4 mile time and 136 mph trap speed. Engine is turbo-converted 964 N/A 3.6 with all trick-parts you can find (GT2 cams, GT30BB turbos, custom managment etc.) and is dynoed to 700+ HP.

More info here (swedish only):
http://www.itsfun.nu/itsfun2.html

Here's the movie (DivX encoded, 1MB in size, left click then save to conserve bandwidth):
http://luminasweden.com/temp/mantorp_qvarnis.avi

Car is built for the track but he opted to do few 1/4 drags as well. Unfortunately, he had host of problems...mostly with shattered axles. They are using 930 axles and CV's and have sheared three of them since...which makes me even more confident in my decision to choose bigger CV's than spinky SC ones for our project car. Unfortunately, gas-pedal got stuck in drag you see in the movie so he had to do full-throttle shifts from 3-rd and upwards.

I tought you guys might find it interesting.

Bonus flick:

Quite fast Volvo estate with 2.3L fourbanger (DivX encoded, 1MB in size, left click then save to conserve bandwidth):

Thanks for sharing even that we have the ENTIRE PORSCHE WORLD against us who choose to Drag a 911,ok with that HP that car shold be in the 10s all day no problem I can give you a few examples I start with mine........

13.3 @122mph BUT that was with a easy launch but I may add that we are 17-0 on the street and the latest 2 W were 1)agaist a 10sec honda,600Fwhp 2) against a nissan with a skyline turbo engine 700 rwhp.

this were my #s
R/T .606
60' 2.42
330 6.237
1/8 9.076
MPH 92.44
1000 11.410
1/4 13.3
MPH 121.44
But WE know that she is runing much much better

Another one that I have seen was a 85 3.4 single turbo electromotive tech 1. It made 558 rwhp at 20lbs. It ran a best 10.68 @ 135MPH.Your friends territory!

Another was a 92 C2 turbo with a 3.6 twin turbo motor,using a old Haltech F9. It ran consistant 9.70's @152mph.

Another one was a 3.4 Single turbo 700hp that ran 9.5

Another one is a good friend of mine twin turbo runing 10s

And the King, Bellos Twin turbo at 9.17 at 161mph

As you can see Im not the only one theres a few of us but for sure we are in a different level,NOW with that mph d.o.t.slicks are a MUST.

Regarding....... They are using 930 axles and CV's and have sheared three of them since...which makes me even more confident in my decision to choose bigger CV's for our project car.

No need for that I have the medicine for that and I will send them Private to you so tell your friends that he is NOT alone if he needs even more help count me in

P.S. 911s not build for Drag Race they must be kidding...

Hmm, all sound and no pic for me too.

I also wanna see the dyno sheets.

I think the driver might need to improve his launching skills if he has around 700 HP and he can't get any faster in the 1/4 than 11.44. Even more so if he is breaking axle shafts.

Hell, I'm hoping to at least get into the 12s with about 400 HP once my project is complete.

Very good points, things that I have found out, a LOT of people CLAIM xxx hp and a LOT of people claim that they run 10s you ask those people were are the dyno sheets and the time slips and then easy said than done........

He may be coming out of the box to hard but hey theres always tomorrow

Funny do, just saturady I was at one of our Dyno Days and there was an old school Datsun 1200 with a nissan silvia turbo engine the car weights 1400pds and she runs 8.5 imagine my face, oh yes with ONLY 400hp

it worked fine for me earlier in the day. The car doesn't launch hard, but once outta the hole it picks up fast.

Go to http://www.dragtimes.com/index2.html and click on the silver Porsche video link. There is a black 964 turbo that was just out of the nine second mark despite backing off at the end!

Don't see any links to a black 964 turbo. In their database, the quickest they have is a 2002 RUF at 11.360. Do you mind checking for the exact link and posting it? Thanks.
