Any Leads On Soft Window Targas For Sale

Hi All,

I am looking for leads on any soft window targas from 1967 up to 1970. I prefer an "S" or "E" and condition does not matter. Any help is always appreciated. You can email me offline at marcw@pipeline.com.

Thanks,

Marc

Saw this in last weeks thewantad.com

68 porsche 911 softwindow targa. Vy rare. Guards red. 2 eng (2.4s installed, 1.9 4 on pallet), 5spd. Pukka sound/performace. 3/4 restored. Way too much money invested. Wife says sell, it's a shame. $7500; Call Brett. (Winchester) 781-729-5626

Hi Greenmonster...

The only criteria that I have is that it's a matching numbers car. The rest doesn't matter...

Thanks for the info.

No problem. I just read your post on the early 911s registry board.

I've been lurking here long enough that I should know the types of 911's you're fond of

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for the help. It's funny, I have wanted a soft window targa for years, but I want this one to be a bit of a project. Something that may take a few years, so I don't mind a car that needs floors or engine rebuild.

Thanks Again...

Marc

Well, definitely not a project.

Beautiful car, fine example. It was for sale at Hershey this year - I heard the seller was asking an astronomical price, somewhere around $60k. Don't know much else about it though.

It did have New York plates.

Hi Jared,

I know the car and he wants 85k for it. He is out of his mind and he made some modifications to boot. He is north closer to Canada, but he thinks his car is the only one available and it's just not. Oh well, what can you do. I told him I would rather buy an RS for that money and he gave me a hard time.

Thanks for the lead anyway...

All The Best,

Marc

Marc, take at look at collectorcartraderonline.com-I look at it two or three times a week and usually just search the SE states, there were at least 3 soft rear windows targas in it just in the SE. NC, GA, & FL, I think one was a 912. One of my cars is a 68 soft rear window, have owned it since '72, will own it till I die. Good luck.

Very nice car, but I always wonder about restored cars that they don't at least finish the engine compartment off with the proper decals. It really does clean the rear up! Also... too bad it's a 912...

Great pictures though.

Thanks,

Marc

In July I was checking this one out. I have no idea if it's still for sale. Damon@Series900.com He's in Sunapee, NH.
Seems like a nice guy. If you want more pix, PM me with your e-mail add'y and I'll forward the 10 or so he sent.

Good luck.

JP
