Can't you try a local engine builder and ask if you could put your box on a show enigne just to snap a picture?

Do you have Imaging for Windows? I have it on XP. It's under Accessories, Imaging. I use it to put simple arrows and things on pictures. Paint should work too, but you would have to freehand your arrows.

Chris, i'm sorry to have misled you. Nothing is wrong with your arrows, they are very nice arrows and i'm sure they will get better with each session. now go take your meds and get ready for your shock therapy.

I was thinking it needs a special nozzle to pull air off the cool-collar . .. .ya know, to drop the oil temp. by sucking its heat into the engine.

There is just a few more details to work out but here is the first copy of my new airbox cover. I am not using this color, it will be a darker shade and will resemble a cast alum part including a textured finish.Production starts 1/5/04 but i will only be able to produce about 10 a week without making more molds. I should be ready to sell by mid Jan.

I like it. Do you have a photo of it installed?

airbox photo

I have installed my airbox cover design on my car and have been running with it for a month or so. I having been using it out in the rain, car washing etc. to verify that it doesn't allow water intake. Installed easily and works very well. Some cool added intake sounds, as well. When I first released photos of the protos I had some very good positive responses, as well as some that didn't care for the industrial style.(what I was hoping would be considered to be functional/low restriction/louvered/outlaw style). But, what do you expect? Some like it, some don't. I have several people interested in purchasing these, but overall feedback is that my price point was a bit too high. The market defines the price. As a result I have worked with the vendors and reduced the price. PM me if there is any interest.

Regards,
Al

This is of coarse not the kind of picture i really wan't to show and i have revised the color of the the finished airbox cover but here it is installed. Any thoughts or questions? Although i hav'nt nailed it down yet, it will retail for under $200.00 If you don't like the color, you can easly paint it any color you like.

Good work Guys.. I like both of them I'm sure there's plenty of market for both designs.. 200.00 bucks sounds reasonable for either one of these, If I didn't have mine I'd be interested. Heck I might even getting in the game if they sell for that price.. JK
Al's design has the race look and JMPRO's design is more subtle.
I was wondering JMPRO, are those O-rings that attach your cover to the air box? are they part of the final product?

Airbox madness

Targe Dude,
Thanks for the kind words. I initially released this unit at $180 plus shipping, but ran into some price resistance. Back to the vendors for negotiations etc and I now have it priced at $150 plus shipping. I think it's a deal and a half, at that price.

Jorge, ya they are o-rings, i have looked around and can't find anything better for the price. One of my concerns was to find a way to hold the cover on using the stock mounting points to avoid the buyer having to drill holes and such ,also most of the latches i looked at would have added significant cost and more production time driving the price higher. The o-rings work great and are easy and cheap to replace.
