My name is Art and I'm a Pelicanholic.... but I suppose there are alot worse things I could be doing while the car is sleeping for the winter.

I read these forums a lot. I just don't post much, because I learn so much by reading.

I never work on the car without consulting you guys first.

And yes...I've "worked" many hours at the office "consulting" these forums.

Forums are a social community like any other. People, when first exposed to it, seem to get really excited about it since there's usually a much faster response than many other communities like a Porsche Club meeting once a month.

That instant gratification about a subject you're passionate about is like heroin. Once you get it you want some more.

I'm a member of many forums, most with traffic far and away exceeding this one (Tribalwar, VWVortex, etc). It gets old after a while. I still come here at least 5-6 days a week, usually more than once.

OK. I was wondering what those other people were in my house. I know they didn't have anything to do with the 911 but I vaguely remember them being here for a reason.
Hi, my name is Joe. I'm a Porscheholic and I get my fix on the Pelican Board when I can't be driving.

I too am Porsche-less...but in the hunt for the first one. In the 6 months I have been here I have learned more about these cars than I ever dreamed. I am addicted to this BBS (2-3 hrs/day...7 days/week), but more importantly to the car.

You people truly crack me up! Good on ya!

After 22 years of marriage my wife fully understands my problem. Before the internet I was under a car or in ther garage, now with the internet I'm under a car or in the garage or on the BBS. See how things change? She has come to accept this.......that's that.

We make appointments to go out to dinner based on what I'm doing that weekend to one of the cars.......big job....local, medium job.....Bay Ridge... small job......Manhattan.

Some threads in this place can be like watching a house burn down.

This is the reason I keep coming back here. Just can't look away.

My name is Mike, and I am on this board more than I am willing to admit.

I work from home, with a 19" monitor staring at me most of the day - it is obviously surfing Pelican every few hours. I am not alone.

I split my time between Porsche, Infiniti and BMW boards. This board is the most intelligent, mature, and helpful of the three.

I dont have a problem. I can handle it. Just one peek wont hurt. I just do it socially....My wifes was just pleased to learn its not a porn board.

ps. I find that a wireless network card, a laptop, and a toilet make excellent use of my time.

Remind me not to let Victor near my house or car if he has matches in his hand.

Hi. My name is John and I'm a Pelican Porsche-holic. I wife has been accepting of what she calls "my girlfriend in the garage". But she keeps refering to Pelican as a "Chat room" -- as if I'm trying to pick up 6 year old girls on line or something. I keep telling her that it's not like that!

Like Emission, I too work at home and often have Pelican's BBS up on the home computer in case an interesting thread pops up. No one knows that I do this. I hope that no one discovers my secret. Oops, here comes my wife. I have to go...
