FREE BEER! Smash - how much to fix? (Pics)
So, someone I know swerved to miss a kangaroo and hit a dirt embankment with his '89 Carerra in the process. Damage looks to be as follows:
Broken bits: Headlight lens (H4) - headlight still works Indicator lens - still works also - but orange bit is broken Foglight assembly (totally busted - but still works - assume replacement unit needed) Rubber impact boot (accordian bit) Rubber lip (AKA front spoiler - the black bit) Front valance Bent Parts: RH front guard (bent - but possibly OK) Scratched panels in need of a re-spray: Bonnet RH front guard Headlight ring Front valance Other things to factor into the equasion: Front bumper now points downwards Drive-ability has not been affected in any way. My pal has not rung the insurance co yet - but curious to see what y'all reckon the damage bill might be. Free beer for the closest answer.

Damn. Sorry to see that, Victor.
I'm assuming that was during the Pre-GP run? Uh, $3k?

Adam - yes that was allegedly during the pre GP run.
I think you are probably close to the mark. If I was sober enough to resize pics properly, I would post more. That damn roo was allegedly 6' tall and full of muscle. Must have eaten his weetbix.

To answer how much for the repair, we need all the details: What color was the Kangaroo?

Way off.
The quote for the body repairs has come in at $7,545. There is mechanical damage that I had not noticed at the time such as crushed oil lines etc. The above quote does not factor this in as yet. Stay tuned.

Ouch. Painful. Both the photo and the price. Ouch.

Yowza! $7,500! - Makes my $8,250 double-ender look like good value...
I might have a very nice, used RHS fender/guard lying around that you could have cheap. Offset some of the repair cost...

Richard, the damage on your '84 cab looks so much worse than mine that I suddenly feel a whole lot better.

UPDATE:
The quote for the mechanicals (underside damage) has come in at $6,600. So the current tally is now a smidge over AU$15,000.
